Tom Holland is a global star as a result of his iconic portrayal of ‘Peter Parker’ in the box office record-breaking franchise ‘Spider-Man’ in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’ (2017), ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ (2019) and ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’ (2021) as well as appearing as ‘Peter Parker’ in the installments of the Marvel Cinematic Universe including ‘Captain America: Civil War’ (2016), ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ (2018) and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ (2019).

Most recently, Holland can be seen in the 10-episode Apple TV+ anthology series, ‘The Crowded Room,’ for which he stars and serves as an executive producer. In this captivating, psychological thriller, created by Akiva Goldsman (‘A Beautiful Mind’) Holland portrays a young man named ‘Danny Sullivan,’ who comes from a broken family and struggles with mental illness. ‘Danny’ is arrested for a crime that carries serious consequences, however the fallout that ensues as investigators attempt to uncover the truth becomes far more complex than they ever imagined. The series premiered on Apple TV+ on June 9, 2023, and Holland received a Critics Choice Award nomination for his performance.

In early 2022, Holland scored yet another big success on the big screen with Sony Pictures ‘Uncharted,’ the film adaptation and prequel of the action-adventure game series of the same name, created by Neil Druckman and developed by Naughty Dog. The story follows ‘Nathan Drake’ (Holland), a treasure hunter who journeys across the world to uncover various historical mysteries. The film, which co-stars Mark Wahlberg and Antonio Banderas and was directed by Ruben Fleischer. The film has grossed over $500 million worldwide. In 2021, Holland took on the titular character in ‘Cherry’ for directors Joe and Anthony Russo. Based on The New York Times best-selling novel of the same name, the true story follows an Army medic suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder who, after an addiction to drugs puts him in debt and he becomes a serial bank robber. Apple released the film on February 26, 2021. Also in 2021, Holland appeared as the lead role in ‘Chaos Walking’ for director Doug Liman, opposite Daisy Ridley, Mads Mikkelsen, David Oyelowo, and Demián Bichir. The film tells the story of a boy (Holland) living in a dystopian world where there are no women and all living creatures can hear each other’s thoughts in a stream of images, words, and sounds called Noise. Lionsgate released the film on March 5, 2021. Holland kicked off 2020 by appearing as a featured voice in the PIXAR animated film, ‘Onward,’ opposite Chris Pratt. Set in a suburban fantasy world, the story focuses on two teenage elf brothers who embark on a quest to discover if magic still exists. Walt Disney Pictures released the film on March 6, 2020. The same year, Holland starred in ‘The Devil All The Time,’ an adaptation of Donald Ray Pollock’s 2011 novel of the same name. Taking place in the 1960s after World War II, the film follows a group of bizarre, compelling, and mentally disturbed people who suffer from the war’s psychological damages. The midwestern gothic, directed by Antonio Campos, also stars Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska. Netflix released the film on September 16, 2020. In December 2019, Holland lent his voice to the Disney action-adventure animated film, ‘Spies In Disguise.’

He also lent his voice in the feature adaptation of ‘Dolittle,’ opposite Robert Downey Jr. and Antonio Banderas, and an ensemble voice cast for Universal Pictures. Holland appeared in Alfonso Gomez Rejon’s period drama ‘The Current War,’ alongside Benedict Cumberbatch and Michael Shannon, which follows the race between electricity titans Thomas Edison and George Westinghouse to determine whose electrical system would power the modern world. The film released on October 25, 2019. In January 2013, Holland made his screen debut opposite Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts in Juan Antonio Bayona’s ‘The Impossible,’ for which he was awarded ‘Breakthrough Actor of the Year’ by the National Board of Review. The film tells the story of a tourist family in Thailand caught in the destruction and chaotic aftermath of the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Holland also received the ‘Spotlight Award’ from the Hollywood Film Awards and was nominated for the ‘Best Young Actor/Actress’ BFCA Critics’ Choice Award. Holland’s additional film credits include James Gray’s ‘Lost City Of Z’ with Charlie Hunnam, Robert Pattinson, and Sienna Miller; Ron Howard’s ‘In The Heart Of The Sea’; Kevin MacDonald’s ‘How I Live Now’opposite Saoirse Ronan; Steven Knight’s ‘Locke’ with Tom Hardy; and Rob Connolly’s ‘Edge Of Winter’ opposite Joel Kinnaman. On the small screen, Holland has also appeared in the six-part miniseries ‘Wolf Hall’, alongside Mark Rylance and Claire Foy, which aired in the BBC Two in the UK and subsequently on PBS in the US in early 2015. The series was a critical success and received multiple Primetime Emmy Award and Golden Globe Award nominations, winning the Golden Globe for ‘Best Miniseries or Television Film.’ In addition to his achievements in film, Holland made his stage debut as the title role in ‘Billy Elliot The Musical’ at the Victoria Palace Theatre in London from 2008-2010.
